OCZ Reaper PC2-6400 HPC Memory Kit (2GB)

Performance

For comparison purposes we are going to run this DDR 800 kit against OCZ's Titanium Edition DDR 800 memory kit.  Performance will be measured by SiSoft Sandra Professional XII's Memory Bandwidth and Memory Latency modules as well as with Super Pi.  Super Pi is a small program that calculates the value of Pi to a preset point and measures the time it takes to do so.  This helps us look at practical speed as well as stability of the modules.  We will run each benchmark five times and throw out the fastest and slowest times to keep things as clean as possible.  The remaining times will be averaged and graphed.  Our test bed is a NVidia 650i based board so the Reaper modules will be run with default timings of 4-4-4-15.

Test Bed

Results

We will start out with SiSoft Sandra's Memory Bandwidth module that measures the Integer and Float Buffered transfers in MB/second.  Both memory kits are set to DDR 800 4-4-4-15.

Next let's have a look at the memory's latency in nanoseconds.

Last up for our DDR 800 testing is Super Pi and how long each kit takes to calculate the value of Pi to the four and eighth millionth digit respectively.
