Albatron Mars PX915 P/G Pro Mainboard

Moving right along, let's take a look at the IDE connection just to the side of the CMOS battery.

This is an Ultra ATA 66/100 IDE channel to support any IDE hard drives or optical drives.  Of course, it is limited to two drives.

The other two IDE connections are located below the SATA ports and are configured for Ultra ATA 133 RAID. These will not support an optical drive and are nicely labeled RAID IDE1 and RAID IDE2.

The SATA connections are also well labeled and easy to read. No need to constantly check the manual here.

The drive connections aren't the only things color coded here either. I almost always refer to the motherboard manual when connecting the power/reset/case LEDs.

Thanks to the color coding and the connections being well labeled, I was able to just plug those wires in without the manual present. Kudos go out to Albatron for this one.

The PX915P Pro using two separate chips to handle the dual LAN capabilities. VIA's VT6105 handle's the Mb (10/100) LAN, while the Gb (10/100/1000) LAN is under the control of Marvell's MV8001 chip.

The RAID IDE controller is this ITE IT812F chip.

This last shot is the rear I/O panel. You can see the dual LAN connections directly above the four USB ports.

The Gb LAN port is the one on the right.
