Chaintech Zenith VE V915P Mainboard BIOS Chaintech has been using the Phoenix Award BIOS for some time now and for good reason. Not only is it pretty intuitive to use, but even with a motherboard targeted at the budget market, it has quite a few options for tweaking the system as well as overclocking. While the main screen lists all your drives, date/time etc., the Advanced menu is where we're going to find most of the good stuff. Such as the Advanced BIOS features for your Hyper-Threading, CPU Cache and getting rid of that pesky "Intel OSB Logo". And how about the Advanced Chipset features for all of your memory needs? Of course the most important sub menu, frequency/voltage control. After all, this is where we can cause the most trouble:) Look how much headroom the BIOS allows for bumping up the FSB here. While the board does offer some voltage adjustments for both the memory and the Northbridge, it's pretty limited. There is substantial room for voltage adjustment for the CPU. And finally the Hardware Monitor, where you take a peek at all the temps and fan speeds, and set up your Smart fan options. |
