Foxconn 975X7AA Crossfire Mainboard

Our next benchmark is Super Pi.  Super Pi is a program used to calculate the value of Pi to a certain point and measure the amount of time it takes to do that.  In this test we have set the program to calculate Pi to the two millionth digit.  Here we start to see the 975 based Foxconn start to show some significant improvement over its predecessor.  Graphed below is the number of seconds it took each machine to figure PI out to the 2M digit (lower is better.)

Our last three benchmarks are more graphically driven.  The first of these is Futuremark's 3Dmark 2006.  While we are fully convinced the best way to test video performance is by gameplay, using Futuremark in this comparison gives us a nice synthetic measure to compare these two products with.  As you will see, the Foxconn 975X7AA is really moving forward here.

Let's move to some real gameplay.  Battlefield 2 remains one of my favorite games.  Using FRAPS within the Zetar Wetlands map, we made very similar runs with the graphics set to 'high' at 1024x768 resolution.  Since we are looking to measure the performance of the mainboard rather than gauge gameplay we just have some rote average FPS scores for you.
