Foxconn Intel Dual Core Motherboard Roundup

Foxconn 945P7AA

Next up in the lineup is the 945P7AA Intense. Like the 945G7MA, this board is based on the 945 chipset, but it is the 945P chipset. The bundle of goodies matches that of the 945G7MA, so we'll save a bit of time and space by skipping ahead a bit.

And as you can see, this is full size ATX board with plenty of room to work with. The basic layout of the board is the same, but with a few added features. As you can see, there is still plenty of room around the socket for heatsink mounting. Just past it are the memory DIMMS and the 24-pin ATX power connector and FDD.

If you remember, the 945G7MA has one of it's IDE connections here as well. However, on the 945P7AA, the IDE connectors are placed at the bottom of the motherboard and there are three of them. Two are ATA 133 with RAID capability with the third being ATA 100. Just above those are the four SATA channels, also with RAID.

Both the Northbridge and Southbridge utilize the same passive coolers.

While the rear I/O setup has the same basic configuration, there are some changes to account for the added features of this board.

Gone is the onboard VGA connection, and in it's place are the onboard IEEE1394 and the SPDIF connection. We've also got two onboard Gigabit Ethernet connection instead of the one that the 945G7MA sports.
