Foxconn WinFast NF4K8MC nForce4 Mainboard Manufactured by: Foxconn by Brian Tiller (3/27/2005)
Introduction Since it's introduction last year, nVidia's nForce4 chipset has been a big winner among the enthusiast and gaming crowd. This is due in no small part to the (re)introduction of SLI by nVidia. But the nForce4 has more going for it than just SLI. Most of the reviews I've seen on the net have been of nForce4 Ultra and nForce4 Ultra SLI motherboards, but what about the other end of the spectrum? Foxconn shipped us out their WinFast NF4K8MC motherboard which is based on the nForce4 chipset. Coming in at a price of around $84 bucks, Foxconn makes this an attractive buy already. The motherboard is micro ATX in size which will also appeal to the HDTV folks out there. Specifications:
While the board doesn't have quite the specs that other nForce4 boards do, it has plenty to please the average user. Foxconn didn't exactly skimp on the included goodies either. Not only do we have the driver disk and manual, but there are two SATA cables, one SATA power adapter and the two IDE and one FDD cable. Also included is the rear I/O plate, a USB header bracket for the rear of the case and the RAID floppy. And if you're not the Athlon64 pro that some are (like me), you'll be glad to know that the user manual is first rate. |
