VIA EPIA M9000 Mini ITX Mainboard

Performance

We are going to run the M9000 through our standard battery of mainboard tests for grins and giggles.  From a perspective of raw horsepower it won’t hold a candle to our current comparison system.  As such, I’ve decided not to put up benchmark scores in a comparison format because it would lend to conclusions that the M9000 cannot perform when that is very far from the truth.  We have been playing with the board for a while now and it handles normal day to day programs i.e. Word, Excel, Front Page, Navigator, etc with zero difficulties or perceptible performance problems.

All the same, we will be testing out the M9000 using SiSoft Sandra 2003 Pro, Business Winstone 2002, Content Creation 2003, Quake III Arena, 3Dmark2001 SE and 3Dmark2003.

And the results...

A quick shot of WCPUID first.

Let's look at the standard Ziff Davis productivity benchmarks.  These are obtained from running a host of programs.  The Content Creation 2003 focuses on a collection of audio/visual software while the Business Winstone 2002 is a better measure of word processing/number crunching performance.
