Kingwin Lazer 1000w Power Supply Manufacturer:
Kingwin by Dean Barker (10/14/2009) Introduction Kingwin has released a new line of power supplies styled the Lazer Series. The Lazer Series is offered in 660w, 750w, 850w and 1000 watt configurations. The 850 and 1000 watt units are both certified 80 Plus Bronze Efficiency Certified. This means that power supplies carrying this seal operate not less than 80% efficiency at 20%, 50% and at full 100% load. Giving clean stable power is the most important part of any power supply but other factors are also important. A few examples being plenty of useable connectors, PFC, modular lines etc. Kingwin being no stranger to the power supply market, knows this and has engineered these items and more into their new Lazer series power supply units. To that end we need to thank Kingwin for sponsoring this review and sending a sample over. Let's jump right in. Specifications
What you get Opening up the Kingwin Lazer package we found the Lazer 1000 watt PSU, a convenient package separating the modular power lines, wall cord, manual and four thumb screws. The thumb screws impressed me. The little things always mean a lot to me as in a world of everyone cutting corners, when I see small extras like thumb screws, that subtly tells me a company is proud of their products and wants to go that extra mile. The Unit The 1000 watt Lazer is a sleek looking flat black unit that is fairly compact. A number of high power PSUs can measure as much as 220mm or more. As we recently saw in our review of the Sunbeam Ultra Tech Station, a long power supply can most certainly be problematic. The Kingwin Lazer with its trimmer 180mm length keeps the unit from being a placement monster or becoming a cabling nightmare. Our first glance at the Kingwin Lazer shows you a number of unique features here. Let's check em out.
