Kingwin T-01B Thunder Cold Cathode
Looking closer at the tube you see that there is actually two tubes, one inside of another. Most of us have seen the glass spheres at novelty shops that have a smaller sphere inside that emits strands of light that are attracted to any place you put your fingers should you touch it. The Kingwin Thunder is the same thing but only it's in a tube. Below is a rip of the Thunder light in action off the Kingwin site. I took some .mov files but they ended up being a couple of megs each so this seemed the best route for us to show you what it looks like.
Conclusion Lighting effects with the Kingwin Thunder are exactly what you would expect, awesome. With the unit mounted in plain view you find yourself watching the lightshow for quite a while. If the unit is mounted out of view, a faint shimmer of blue seems to dance faintly on all the components you have in your case; like a dim reflection off a pool. Either way, the Kingwin Thunder provides a good show. Kudos to Kingwin for bringing something this hip to market. The only question mark we have at present with the Thunder light is its price. I would guess it to be in the $18 range. With the Thunder coming in three colors (red, blue and green) or the tri-color model, you can match it to many existing lighting items you have in your case already. Thanks again to Kingwin for giving us an opportunity to play with their Thunder light.
