Introduction

Is anyone feeling a bit hungry out there? No, I'm not asking if you want me throw a couple of extra burgers on the grill for you. I'm talking about your system. It's big, it's fast but it might be a bit under powered. Especially with NVidia and ATi's current power hungry cards. Up until recently if you had a 500 watt power supply, that was more than enough but now you need to be thinking about 750 watts or better. NZXT has kindly offered us an opportunity to check out one of their new Precise power supply solutions to see if it can fit the bill of today's power hungry systems.

NZXT has four models in their Precise power supply line, ranging from 550w to 1000w. We are lucky enough to have the monster 1000W jobber in the house today.

Specifications:

  • Power Output: 1000w Total Wattage

  • Dimensions: 176 x 150 x 87mm

  • Gun metal finish

  • Thermal Controlled 120mm fan

  • Six +12v rails that can be combined for large loads

  • 20+4 pin ATX power connector

  • Active PFC

  • Over voltage and over current protection

  • Three year warranty

  • Modular cable design

  • Sleeved cables

  • Four PCI-Express connections

  • Six + two pin connector for upcoming video cards

Those are just the highlights on the specs of this PSU. For the full down and dirty details you can catch them here at NZXT.
