Rosewill 8" Digital Photo Frame by Dean Barker (12/10/2007)
Introduction Rosewill is one of the staple manufacturers of computer parts and accessories. While they don't get all the glitz of motherboard and video card makers, their product lines include chassis, coolers, USB hubs, power supplies, switches etc. Pretty much anything else you can think of, Rosewill makes. One of the product lines that gets a lot of attention, especially around gift giving time, are their digital photo frames. Offering 7", 8", 10.4" and even a locket sized 1.1" LCD digital frame, Rosewill has something for everyone. Today, we have a look at the Rosewill 8" Digital Photo Frame that accepts Compact Flash (CF), Smart Media (SM), Memory Stick (MS), Secure Digital (SD), Micro Drive (MD) and Multi-Media Card (MMC) memory cards. It's not just a variety of input the Rosewill accepts but the output of its 8" LCD screen as well which includes MPEG video and MP3 playback in addition to JPG/JPEG images. Let's look at the white paper to get started. Specifications
What you get Rosewill includes several items along with their 8" Digital Photo Frame. The most appealing of these is a multifunction remote. The remote allows for control of all aspects of the frame's function. A very trendy device we will look at more closely shortly. We also have an AC adapter, a stand and a small user manual. One fancy frame The outer frame itself has a cherry wood grain finish. A black matting rests between the frame and the digital display. The edge of the matt is even angle cut like you would see in a standard mounted photo. There are a variety of display options for the Rosewill. Notice the three hang points for wall mounting as well as the two slits for the stand to fit into. The vent areas you see are actually speakers for MP3 and MPEG playback. The stand in place in each of its two positions. |
