Introduction

Power supply units have really taken on some attention over the past year.  Triple fans, quad fans, LED fans, automatic speed control, manual fan speed control and on and on.  Lots of attention to the fans if you hadn't guessed already.  Some other areas of power supply units have gone without that same attention to their finer details until now.  Thermaltake has brought out the latest in their Purepower series.  The Purepower 560w PSU looks not only at providing lots of stable juice but at bringing lots of useful extras to the table.  Here is a quick run down of the Tt Purepower's specs.

Specifications

  • Size: ATX 560 watts

  • Weight: 2.3kg

  • Construction: Steel

  • Color: Black

  • Fans: 80x80x25mm exhaust / 90x90x25mm bottom mounted intake

  • Active PFC: PF > 0.95

  • 115/230V Automatic Switch

  • Dual Serial ATA power connectors

  • All cables sleeved

Let's take a look at the package itself to start off with.  The Purepower is painted flat black with one side sporting a silver Thermaltake logo label.  The exterior color is anything but a quick coat out of a can.  It has a "thick" look at feel about it as if it is several baked on layers of enamel.
