Introduction

Bluetooth Technology continues to gain ground with more and more Bluetooth enabled devices becoming available.  Let me take a second and explain what Bluetooth is all about.  Bluetooth is a protocol that allows devices designed for it, to communicate with one another.  Bluetooth goes beyond the traditional wireless networking we typically think of.  It takes data transfer and device operation to a new level, allowing communication between computers, PDAs, cell phones, faxes, printers, headsets, MP3 players and even game consoles.  Obviously, you aren't going to be playing video games by means of a Bluetooth enabled fax but I think you see the potential that Bluetooth has.

Bluetooth transfers data at 1 mbps.  This may seem slow when thinking of 10/100 or even Gigabit networks but remember that this is a network designed around the premise of universal device access.  One of those devices we have today, is the Thermaltake X-Wing mouse.  The X-Wing package actually includes two Bluetooth devices, the BT500 mouse and the BT009X USB adapter.  With the two devices, you also have respective drivers, instruction and installation manuals and even two AAA batteries for the mouse.
