Ultra X-Connect 500w Power Supply

Testing

We selected our ABIT AN7 and its uGuru program to read mainboard sensors to monitor voltages of the Ultra X-Connect unit.  We also confirmed these results with a multi-meter to help us look for any fluctuations.  Our test bed consisted of the following.

Test Bed

Results

Here are the voltage readings from the ABIT uGuru program.  The second pic below is as a screen shot over time which showed no variations in power delivery.  As we previously mentioned, we confirmed our readings with a generic multi-meter.  Results showed the voltages being a bit higher than the exact 3.3v, 5v and 12v levels but within 3% of that which was more than satisfactory.

Conclusion

The Ultra Products X-Connect power supply is the best thing that has happened to power supply units in years.  Its innovation and forward thinking greatly simplifies things for the end user; be that installation or the passive needs of a case neat freak (like me).  The principle of 'plug in what you need' cannot be given too many laurels.  Add in UV reactive windows, a mirror finish paint job, pliable UV power cables or its virtual silence when in operation and you have a winner any way you look at it.  The Ultra Products X-Connect 500w power supply is a fantastic piece of equipment that easily wins our Editor's Choice award.
